Featured App: Best For Film

We have a lot of great content coming through the App Factory every day, there's no doubt about that. But every once in awhile someone creates an app that we just have to share with you all. This is one of those times.

A few days ago, the good folks over at Best for Film created a mobile app to accompany their website... and it's totally awesome. This is definitely one for the cinephiles out there! It's got pretty much everything any good film fan would ever want -- news, reviews, features, top 10 lists, you name it. But that's not the only reason why we love the app so much. Reason #1? It's really, really funny. Trust us.

All that and the app is designed to fit your phone perfectly (no matter what type of phone you have). What more could you want?

Seriously, if you love fims, or if you like films a little bit, or if you've ever seen a film... you're totally gonna dig this app.

Lights, camera, INSTALL!

Daily Express App Wins the BlackBerry Developer Challenge

We have exciting news...

Recently we entered one of our awesome new BlackBerry apps -- Daily Express UK -- into the 2011 BlackBerry Developer Challenge, under the category of Most Innovative BlackBerry WebWorks App. And, well given the lead-up you can probably already guess, but if not...

We won the grand prize!

This win is an especially big deal for us as the app was actually created using HTML5 and then packaged with BlackBerry WebWorks, making it a testament to our skills in both of those areas.

There are 3 grand prize winners in total -- one for North America, one for Asia Pacific and another for Europe, Middle East & Africa (that's us!). The competition was pretty fierce and we're really honored to receive this award. Big congrats to all the other winners as well! You can check out the full list on the BlackBerry Developor's Blog.

Now we're just waiting for our shipment of new BlackBerry toys to play with!

And, hey, if you've got a BlackBerry why not check out our awesome app? It is award-winning, after all...

App Factory Now Offering Multi-Channel Apps

That's right, we have just added some great new functionality to the App Factory -- now you can add up to four content sources to your app (instead of just one).

We understand that your blog or website often doesn't stand alone; it's part of a brand. And sometimes that brand deserves multiple channels! Got a Flickr feed? Why not use our amazing new gallery template to show off all your photos? And what about that YouTube channel of yours? Why not throw that in there as well? The options are (nearly) endless!

If you've already created an app, there is no need to worry. You can log in to your account at any time and update your app to incorporate multiple channels. But only if you fancy it, of course! Sometimes one channel is all you need, and sometimes it's not -- it all depends on what you think works best for your app.

And if you haven't created an app yet, why not have a go? It's free to try. And awesome. We promise.

Thanks to @Whatleydude for letting us make an example out of him!
