I bring you a new interview with another Mippin novice, Vasileios Xouris. (Yeah, I'm still not sure we're pronouncing it right either.)


What is your official title and what do you do for us?
Developer -- currently working on Windows Phone 7

What were you up to before you came to Mippin?
Finishing up a master's degree in Edinburgh

What sort of things of the non-mobile variety are you into?
(1) Football
(2) Pints
(3) Cinema
(-- He would like to clarify that yes, this is in the correct order.)

Do you have any favourite blogs or websites?
engadget.com, ted.com, failblog.org and several Greek websites

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
Something flying and fast. (We had him pegged for either an ostrich or a turtle -- colour us embarrassed!)

Favourite Parsons Green lunch spot?
Mmm... Strada and Don Bois Thai... but he is convinced there must be something better around here.

What’s better: Athens or London?
If you have been to Greece you know the answer.

On a scale of 1 - 10, how awesome are you at table football?
5 or 6 and going up... One day he hopes to beat Luca! (Who, if you'll remember from our last post, oh diligent readers, is a self-proclaimed TEN.)

What kind of advancements would you like to see in the mobile world in 2011?
3D UI and more payments through mobile phones

What kind of phone do you use currently and why?
Nokia 6125. Why? Because his Ericsson m600 broke... Dont worry though, a Nexus S in on the way. (Hallelujah!)

Meet the Mipps: Newbie Edition

Hello again, Mippin blog readers! At the risk of sounding trite, we apologise for the lack of posts... but, it was the holidays and all. It's hard to blog when you're stuffed full of minced pies and mulled wine and spreading Christmas cheer. (Okay, it was predominantly the minced pies and the mulled wine -- you know how it goes.)

Anyways, we're going to try and fix that this year. Starting...NOW. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you ten questions with one of our newest team members:


Name: Luca Chiarelli

What is your official title and what do you do for us?
Developer (specialising in iPhone) -- though he is an informatics engineer to hopes to expand on this in the future

What were you up to before you came to Mippin?
"Looking for my place... looking for something special" (Side note: that is totally us)

What sort of things of the non-mobile variety are you into?
Guitar & music, film, having a pint with friends, hopefully and taking up tennis again (a feat we here at Mippin HQ will certainly have a hand in come summer)

Do you have any favourite blogs or websites?
Mostly news sites like the BBC and The Sun (well, news-ish...), but also the AppGuide from MacWorld

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
A solitary animal like the wolf

Favourite Parsons Green lunch spot?
Strada (...did we mention he was Italian?)

What’s better: Rome or London?
London -- "Culturally, it's better" (aww, shucks)

What kind of advancements would you like to see in the mobile world in 2011?
(1) More implementation of 4G networks globally
(2) Mobile phone & projector combinations en masse

What kind of phone do you use currently and why?
White 16GB iPhone 3GS because "it was the first and keeps being the best...and it can always surprise you"
