The APPrentice

So who caught The Apprentice last night?

We sure did. Nothing helps get us over the mid-week hump more than a bit of Sir Allen! And last night's episode was a jackpot for any mobile geek. Yes, that's right...each team of contestants were asked to create and market their own mobile app. It was brilliant.

The challenge took place over two days -- the first day was basically spent coming up with the idea for the app, and then collaborating with developers to make it happen. The apps were built in under 24 hours, and the next day the teams were sent to a gaming conference at Earl's Court to market the apps and drive downloads. The teams also met with TechCrunch, Pocket-Lint and Wired Magazine to vie for features on their websites.

This was a great idea for a challenge, especially now as companies everywhere are really starting to realise the value of having a mobile presence. Creating a good app is essential, but creating a good app quickly and easily? That's inavaluable.

Well, if you thought 24 hours was a quick turnaround to create an app, how about if we told you that you could do it in five minutes? Because with the App Factory you totally can. And not only is the process quick, but it's super easy, too. We'll walk you through it from start to finish.

So what are you waiting for? Check out the App Factory here and maybe you'll have as much luck as the winning team. (Spoilers averted for those planning to catch it on iPlayer. We're nice like that.)
